Believe it or not, it’s March. I don’t have a clue as to where the year is going, but it’s beginning to look like spring will be here soon.
This months’ gemstone is the aquamarine. The name is derived from ancient Greek which means sea water, and therefore the color of the gemstone is a lovely blue green.
An aquamarine is a cousin and in the same crystal family as the emerald.
Aqua color can vary from pale through deep blue. Aquas have a long and storied history, full of magic and romance.
Along with providing power over evil, aquas are associated with faithfulness, courage, and friendship. They have also been said to aid in establishing happy marriages. It might be said that March born are truly in pursuit of the perfect relationship, and or their art.
The characteristics of the color of aqua align nicely with the ones that are Pisces, the Zodiac for this month; romantic, generous, receptive, honest, and affectionate. Blue, in all its hues, is the color of oceans, skies, and the heavens. The energy of blue is said to help us look beyond the immediate surroundings, and expand our knowledge.
Blues are also the color of divinity in many civilizations. It can bring peace and understanding, make communication easier, and of course calms and relaxes our souls.
March also means the appearance of Daffodils. One of my favorite things that happens this month is the daffodils start poking up through the soil, growing and giving us the beautiful yellow and white flowers for most of the month. This months’ flower has many names, daffodil, jonquil and narcissus, but always signals the beginning of spring. Daffodils mean friendship, chivalry and domestic happiness.
And besides that, they always make me smile!
